Last week, Genius Hour was introduced to students. Passions range from baseball, to Taylor Swift, to hover boards, to volcano eruptions. Students will be taking the next few weeks to research based on a guiding question they created. Examples of guiding questions are, "Where did the Cubs curse come from?", and "How can I make a Hover Board?" Then, students will present their findings. Presentation styles are endless! In the past, some students have created video games when learning about coding, other students have used Google Slides, and some have just prepared reports. I can't wait to find out what all of our Geniuses learn about!
What's your passion? That is the question that Genius Hour presents to students. Genius Hour will be a 45 minute time period each week that allows students to research and present about things they are passionate about. Genius Hour lets students use their passion to drive learning. To learn more about Genius Hour, watch this Youtube video.
